TRAINING FOR SCHOOLS

As more schools are offering the professional graphics software, particularly to 14-18 years olds, London Creative Training are providing an increasing number of courses for both staff and students.

For teaching staff

Introducing new software is not an easy undertaking, especially when the teaching staff are themselves unfamiliar with the programs and the the underlying theory and practice. Our most frequently requested courses for schools are: Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Flash, as well as QuarkXpress, CorelDraw and Microsoft Visio. After training, the teaching staff feel confident to roll out the software in a more proficient way with an understanding, not just of how the software works, but how it is actually used in industry.

For marketing and administrative staff

With multiple licences, staff who are involved in the production of both internal and external publications are taking advantage of the opportunity to upgrade their software to Adobe's InDesign or to Quark. Of course, we still offer training in the traditional favourites, Adobe PageMaker and Microsoft Publisher.

For students

London Creative Training can help you roll out graphics training and media training to students, delivering 1/2 day, 1 day or 2 day courses in each of the software you plan to introduce.

Course format

A typical course, say for InDesign for staff, might consist of a mix of perhaps 5 teaching staff, 2 administrators and 1 marketing staff over a period of 2 days. The course content might include selected features of the program, using the software professionally, design considerations, preparing for in-house printing, packaging for commercial printing and outputting to pdf, interactive pdf or swf formats.
